Paul Fireman to Emcee at 2016 Wild & Scenic Film Festival

Pennsylvania Resources Council and Allegheny CleanWays are teaming up to host the second annual Pittsburgh Wild & Scenic Film Festival, the nation’s premier environmental and adventure film festival.

Subtitled “where activism gets inspired,” the 2016 edition of the festival features 15 short films. They will be shown in two venues:

Thursday, September 22 from 6:00 to 9:30 at the Harris Theater downtown and

Saturday, September 24 from 5:00 to 9:00 at the Hollywood Theater on Potomac Avenue in Dormont.

Paul will emcee the Thursday show, while Doug Oster, organic gardening expert and Home and Garden editor of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, will emcee on Saturday.

According to Justin Stockdale, PRC Regional Director, the films combine great filmmaking with pressing environmental issues to educate citizens and communities and to inspire action across the nation to protect the environment. “This year’s festival highlights human connections to the natural world, from Rocky Mountain streams to Southeast Asian rainforests to Pittsburgh’s own three rivers, and all films will educate and inspire festival-goers to take action to protect the local and global environment.”

Award-winning films to be shown include: The Accidental Environmentalist; Brilliant Darkness: Hotaru in the Night; CO2ld Waters; Invisible Ocean; and The Last Dragons.
