All Aboard! Set Sail with Pinterest
1. 25% of shoppers use Pinterest as a visual tool in the discovery process for figuring out what they want to buy online. That means that your Pinterest presence can bring your company a lot of business.
2. About 47% of U.S. online shoppers have made a purchase based on a recommendation from Pinterest. If your business isn’t represented, you’re missing out.
3. 80% of pins are repins, which means that your pins have a good chance of reaching a wide audience. For new bloggers and social media users, it often feels like what you say gets lost in the vastness of the web. On Pinterest, you have a higher chance of being noticed than on other social media sites.
4. Pinterest is dominated by women. 57% of shares are by women, and amazingly ⅓ of women in the U.S. use the platform.
5. Pinterest grew by 58% in 2013. In comparison, Twitter grew by 15%. Pinterest is a big market, and it’s only getting bigger.
6. 11% of pins are categorized as food and drink, which is the largest and most popular category on Pinterest. At Fireman Creative, when we have an office breakfast together or receive bagels from one of our clients, we Instagram and pin a picture of our delectable meal!
7. Keep in mind that small, fuzzy visuals don’t look good. Images that are at least 600 pixels wide look best on Pinterest, and images must be at least 100 x 200 to be pinnable.
Don’t let this ship pass you by. Get pinning, and your Pinterest followers might get buying!
